Spinal Scanning

Your nervous system is your master controller.

Your nervous system derives protection from your skull and spinal column.  Daily stresses, such as poor posture, minor accidents and emotional strain can often lead to the development of Vertebral Subluxations.  In turn, Vertebral Subluxations cause interference to your nervous system which can be detected by elevated muscular activity.  Good health is dependant on a nervous system that is free from interference.

The primary objective of your Chiropractic care is the removal of nervous system interference via the correction of Vertebral Subluxations. 

Surface EMG Scan (sEMG)

Using state-of-the-art technology, we now have an enhanced ability to pinpoint and analyse areas of abnormal spinal function which cannot be see on X-Ray.   Better still, these scans can detect areas of disturbance before the onset of any obvious symptoms!

The intensity of muscle energy is represented by the colour of the "bars" at each spinal level. The example to the left shows a marked reduction of nerve interference after just a short length of Chiropractic care.

Your muscles are controlled by nerves.  The sEMG measures how well these motor nerves are working by measuring their electrical activity.  Subluxations of the spine disturb nerve function causing altered electrical activity of muscles.


Muscle Symmetry

As a result of this disturbance, muscles can become weaker or stronger, tighter or fatigued.  The Symmetry view of your scan shows the degree and pattern of altered contraction. 

Muscle contraction can vary from side to side dependant on underlying Spinal function. It's like a Tug-Of-War, showing which side of contraction is winning and by how much.
